Atlus’ Switch-exclusive (for now) Shin Megami Tensei V has surpassed 1 million sales worldwide in under six months, Atlus has announced today.
As the latest entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series, fans had to wait over four years to get their hands on the game, which was teased before the Switch even came out. To celebrate this achievement, Atlus has shared some brand new art from Character Designer Masayuki Doi of the Nahobino you control throughout most of the game. More chance for us to swoon over that beautiful hair, then.
Back in January, Shin Megami Tensei V had already become the best-selling game in the series in just two months, with the next best-selling entry — Shin Megami Tensei IV on the 3DS — which sold over 600k units. If you’re not counting the spin-off series Personaof course.
Still, this is pretty fantastic news for Atlus, as this marks a fantastic return for the Shin Megami Tensei series. We think these high numbers are well-deserved, as we called Shin Megami Tensei V “the best entry in the series yet” in our review.
